The Lincoln Field's Secondary Plan will result in significant changes to the Woodpark Community and surrounding area over the next 20 years. Housing will be built for an additional 11,000 people and the area will be transformed into a higher density inner urban community. While much of the development will take place in the lands surrounding the new Metro Store, there will also be significant development in Woodpark along Carling and Edgeworth. Woodpark will lose NCC green space south of the community garden. The Woodpark Community Association has concerns about the adequacy of the city's infrastructure and services (e.g. recreational facilities and green space) to support such a large influx of people.
The Woodpark Community Association has organized a meeting on Thursday January 18, 2024, 7:00pm for the Woodpark Community. The City Planner responsible for the plan, Jocelyn Cadieux, will have a presentation on the plan and then residents will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding the plan in general or specifically its implications for Woodpark. The Meeting will take place at the Lady of Fatima School, 2nd floor, Learning Commons, 2135 Knightsbridge Ave. You can also join the meeting virtually. Send an email to events@woodpark.ca to get the Zoom link.
We hope to see you there.
